Tutor

Sarah Parkes is an educator, trainer, and advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Manhattan. Her passion for Judaism was ignited during her formative years at a Jewish Day School and summers at Ramah Nyack as both a camper and counselor. At the University of Michigan, Sarah held various leadership roles at Hillel and began teaching at Hebrew schools in Ann Arbor. After graduating college, she led a teen leadership program in Westchester, focusing on social action and community service for high school students. She currently works in vocational training for individuals with disabilities, helping them prepare for the workforce. For the past six years, she has also been tutoring students for their bnei mitzvah, a role she deeply enjoys, as it allows her to witness them learn and connect to Judaism at such a pivotal point in their lives.
